Getting up close and personal portraits was a big problem in Bangkok, very few people would entertain my appeal to having their picture taken. Probably a mixture of city life, boredom with tourists and cultural leaning, the thai a very shy when it comes to having their picture taken. Most people who just wave me off. In the north, it was slightly less so. After an exchange of smiles and a stilted language deprived conversation, most of the people who I encountered, loved having their photo taken. The old guys often feigned annoyance and the older ladies openly loved the attention.
