Three Days in Yelapa

This past weekend we took the second of two trips to Yelapa this month (we’re super lucky, I know). We stayed at a really nice little house on the rocks above the water on the northwest side of Yelapa Bay. Days were filled with casual reading in hammocks, food and trips to the two waterfalls (one in Yelapa, the other an hour or so up the river). Fer, Fritz, Raquel, Andrew and Maru joined us and Chato and Malaney checked in on Saturday for a quick day trip. It was super nice to be able to kick the old feet up and enjoy the breezes.

With regards to photography, I approached this trip having “lifestyles” imagery in mind and really made an effort to grab the more candid moments. the details and little things that made the weekend enjoyable. images that may not stand up on their own, but when viewed collectively, tell a story. let’s hope it worked.

I stumbled upon your blog while looking for places to stay in Sayulita. We are heading there in a couple months - need to get out of the Bay Area’s cold summer. We had checked out Yelapa as our first choice but could not find anything available, bummer. It sounds great. I hope we are not making a mistake by switching destinations. We basically want to get away, shoot film, eat, drink too much, sleep, get sun and bury our bodies in the sand - need to detox from the city.

Love your site and your photos are stellar. Keep up the great work and inspiration!
