78 Days, a Jason Nardella film
Throughout 13 seasons working for 7 reforestation companies, countless trees were planted as the idea to create a film on tree-planters grew in the back of my mind. In 2008, armed with 2 cameras, I followed a tree-planting camp during an almost four-month season, capturing the crew’s progress and struggles working in northern Alberta. Dividing the unusually long 78 day season into a series of chapters, we follow several veteran tree planters as they deal with harsh working conditions and a never ending contract.
included in the cast is Adam Dewolfe, who worked the intensive, dangerous summer job for 9 seasons, in order to spend his winters in Mexico surfing and shooting photos.
